Any Ideas? RE: CLS DC-10

I just noticed a problem with my virtual cockpit on the CLS DC-10.  In vc mode, when it's raining, I can't see through the windows.  I can see clearly out the windows for a second, then the graphics flash and the windows appear light blue (very similar to those who were having blacked out cockpit windows after converting FS9 aircraft to FSX).  I can see through the windows ok in 2D mode.  This only happens in vc and only when it's raining.  On fair weather days, I can see out the windows in vc mode with no problems.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for the reply.  I did read this post prior to mine, but I'm a little confused because the DC-10 is a FSX aircraft, not a FS9 aircraft.

Are you sure it's a true FSX/SP2 model, and not just an older FS9 model tweaked for FSX?

It says FSX Certified (whatever that means), but I know that it was released prior to SP2.

I bought a supposedly 'FSX Certified' aircraft also. Was it compatible with SP2? Not even close... ::)

Ok, according to the CLS forums, the DC-10 is not compatible with Acceleration.  Does anyone know if I run the above fix, will it affect any of the effects on my other FSX aircraft?

I used it ages ago on other aircraft, though I have the DC10 collection it isn`t currently installed.  Just use the rain (blue glass) patch, its easily undone and quick too.

Well I tried the fix and although I can now see through the vc windows, the graphics flash and distort so often, it's not even worth it.  I'm really bummed because this was my favorite aircraft.  I guess I'll just have to stay clear of bad weather.

I've been reading that post "Is a new Flight Simulator coming out soon?" and there have been a lot of excellent suggestions as far as hopes and thoughts for a new sim.  I really hope the add-on companies get their butts into gear after the next sim is released.  It seems that FS9 had so many more add-ons than FSX.

Thanks for your help Esselbach and reider.

Ok, on further investigation I found out the following.  Their is an SP3 in the pipeline for the DC10 range from CLS.  This is seriously delayed at the moment and has been since November 2007 due to FSX SP2 and Acceleration.  This means all CLS products have to be changed.  As a forward and very reputable company (IMHO) I don`t think we will have a problem.  Just hang on for now and I`ll make sure word gets around when its out, if you don`t spot it first.
