FSX Beech 18 Package

I got this plane and the glass is not transparent in the VC. I've tried the following.

-Converted from bitmap to DDS using DXTBmp.exe
-Applied Alpha
-Inverted Apha

The best I get now is the glass flickers in and out of transperancy.

What else can I do?

The plane is found here

Okay I figured it out. I converted the file back to bitmap but left it inverted and it works fine. So that leads me to another question. Is there any reason to take a plane that has primarily bitmap files and convert them to dds?

The only advantage to DDS vs. the FS9 DXT3 BMP format is that the sim won't have to spend resources "inverting the bitmap" before blitting it to the video buffer.

DDS files are "pre-inverted" so will get biltted immediately...

Only a/c with a LOT of bitmaps will see a slight increase in performance in the sim, but even so...

...every little bit helps!

The glass issue is a problem with older models. What bugs me is that when I go into the FSX downloads and see an aircraft that the description claims to have been tweaked for FSX/SP2 and runs fine, but when I download it there's all sorts of gauge, glass, and other problems with it

Even worse some openly brag about being fully converted to use in SP2/Acceleration.  In reality they took out the VC (inc gauges) and the glass only, no glass at all!!!
