Hey everyone, does anyone have any idea what might be wrong with my sim if this is what my aircraft selection screen looks like:

??
The aircraft names below each picture aren't correct.

I don't know what it happened.
Thanks for any help.

I guess the problem is that your l-159A has no thumbnail.
Strange thing is that I never had this issue, when an aircraft has no thumbnail, normally he should get some kind of generic icon... strange. Try creating a thuumbnail for that plane.

I have seen this before when FSX was up and running and then I went in and deleted an aircraft or deleted a texture in an aircraft.cfg and then when to the select aircraft screen.
Did you try exiting FSX and then restarting FSX? If you did and you get the same thing then exit FSX, move the folder for the L-159A out of the main airplanes folder, restart FSX and see what happens. If everything is then okay something funky is going on in your aircraft.cfg for your L-159A and you will need to compare it to a good one from another aircraft and try to see what is the matter.

Rod

OK here we go....
FSX uses a system where certain descriptors are in quotes "this is a Microsoft plane". FS2004 and FS systems before that did not use the same layout and most of the problems are the non quoted elements. Some planes still work but odd ones push the bar too far and cause problems for all.
You can see an example the next time you go to choose a plane. Look at the Publisher tab and select other. Lets say you have four planes in this category, write them down on some notepaper. Close the selection window. Then select the 737-800 aircraft.cfg with notepad. Copy one of the entries as a template as follows (you can use this one as a template if you wish-but this is how its done).
[fltsim.0]
title=Boeing 737-800 Paint1
sim=Boeing737-800
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=1
kb_checklists=Boeing737-800_check
kb_reference=Boeing737-800_ref
atc_id=N737W
atc_airline=Boeing
atc_flight_number=
ui_manufacturer="Boeing"
ui_type="737-800"
ui_variation="Boeing livery"
ui_typerole="Commercial Airliner"
ui_createdby="Microsoft Corporation"
description="One should hardly be surprised that the world's most prolific manufacturer of commercial aircraft is also the producer of the world's most popular jetliner. The 737 became the best-selling commercial jetliner worldwide when orders for it hit 1,831 in June 1987 (surpassing Boeing's own 727 as the previous champ). However, it wasn't always that way\s in the first few years of production, there were so few orders that Boeing considered canceling the program. They didn't, and the airplane has more than proven itself in over three decades of service."
Now open each of the four or whatever aircrafts you noted from other and make sure the general layout and Quotes "" are in evidence. I have made them bold to show you where to look. Do each texture in the same way. Save each aircraft.cfg after the changes. Lastly ensure each has a thumbnail pic, even if they have you would still have got the problem.
Now go back to choosing an aircraft, not only will their be no aircraft in other but you should find each pic/name/description matches because they all follow the same rules as each other now. ;D
