I have been trying to find out how, under free flight, you are able to have a plane start in mid-air.  All the options appear to have you start at an airport or a gate or a helipad, but no option to start in the mid-air.

I have installed the BSG Galactica (http://www.simviation.com/fsxmisc3.htm) model and it works, however I crash as soon as the mission has loaded.  That's because the BSG is not intended to land.

How do I start in mid-air and not on the ground.  I was lucky with the Voyager space ship as it does have landing gear.

Start a flight in any aircraft of comparable speed, then change to it midflight and save the flight.

Then you can load it anytime you like.

What I do, (in FS 2004... :-*...), is start on the ground, Press "Y" for "Slew"...
....press "Q" to raise up into the air to the desired height, and then Save the Flight.

Handy for all the Glider, and Hang Glider Pilots...;)...!
