Best monitor suggestions ??

I am looking to upgrade my Vista system with a good 24" display for the best experience in FSX. One that appears nice is a SAMSUNG 245BW Black 24" 5ms at Newegg. Anyone have experience with this one ... or others that they would recommend?  This is on my horizon but may come sooner if my current display goes ... described below.

It's a 26" Olevia (1280 x 768 Native) and is beginning to have difficulties ....  the DVI port has failed and I'm now using it's VGA port ... and it's starting to take a fair amount of time to warm up if I should turn it off for awhile with the system up.  So ... just looking ahead I might as well go for a higher resolution. My Olevia would be considered a low resolution I think even though I'm pretty happy with it.

Any ideas for a new one appreciated ....   ;D

1280x1024 is the MINIMUM native resolution you should run FSX

Selection of a monitor is based on video card and ability... AND, the monitor specs for screen speed to ensure ghost and blur images will not occur. if you dont have a 640-768MB video card I would be VERY careful at resolutions at or above 1600x1200.

I run 1920x1200

Darn !!  And I just picked up a Nvidia 8800 GT 512.  But the Samsung monitor does seems capable enough from what I can gather.

I appreciate ... thank you.

you are pushing it with 512

it will work but you will suffer some loss for the resolution in the size of the frame buffer.. dont run it below its native... keep it at 1920x1200

The samsung is a decent monitor too.. the other one was junk
