Another RAID ? for Nick

Currently have FSX on a RAID0 array with 2 74G Raptors using NVidia built in manager. Thinking of several things:
1) break the array into 2 74G individuals or
2) buy a 150G Raptor

If I decide to do either of these - can I just Ghost the RAID data and then copy it back to the 150 or 74 or is there a better way? (Reinstalling is NOT an option)

Last - system is running just fine now, will any performance difference be worth the effort or am I just looking at a "purist" solution. At my advanced age I can no longer tell the difference between 10ms and 20ms.  :)

If you happy with performance... why are you considering this change?

That makes no sense to me... what is it about your current install that makes you think you can do better?

Are you seeing stutters? Are you seeing a great deal of disk activity around those stutters?

if so, removing the array will probably help. As for how you do that.. I would very careful because to restore may not be as simple as 1-2-3

its not about frames, its about getting rid of lags and scenery related stutters

That's what I thought. I've never been happier with my system but saw a few posts re inefficiencies of RAID 0 w/ onboard and just wondering.

I guess "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" rule applies here!
:)

thanx!
