Newbie question about addon aircraft

I have to admit I have only just bought FSX and Acceleration and wanted to expand the number of available aircraft.

This could be a couple things. First, are you running FSX/SP2 in DX10 mode? If so, disable it. Second, does this occur with all aircraft, or only addon aircraft? Are these addon aircraft newer or older. Some older aircraft aren't compatible at all, where others are more compatible
