No radio stack

I'm upgrading from FS9 to FSX but right out of the box, the Beech 58/G1000 does not have a radio stack/ap panel. I even tried ctrl/shift/z and that doesn't work. The regular Beech Baron is ok. Any help? Thanks

That's because the G1000 is the radio stack.  On the top of the MFD (the right screen), there should be places to set your NAV and COMM frequencies.

Don't wory, the new fancy modern glass panel confuses me too. I'm much more comftorable flying with steam powered gauges.... ;D

So how do i set altitude and rate of climb?

I'm in the middle of a flight, otherwise I would doublecheck, but I think there is an article in the learning center that covers the new G1000 glass cockpit. Failing that, do what I did, play with the knobs and buttons to try to figure it out... ;)

Oohhhh.  To hold an altitude, you decide what altitude you want to fly at, then you get to that altitude (either by a climb or a descent) then once you level off at your altitude, you maintain that altitude by pushing on the yoke if you get too high or you pull back on the yoke if you get too low.  Holding a rate of climb is very similar.

:D

Sorry, for the autopilot press "alt", go to "view", then "instrument panel" (or something like that), then choose "radio".  But that's no fun.  It's "Flight Simulator", not "Autopilot Simulator". ;)

It's a wonder that MS hasn't implemented the CFS feature of time warp, or whatever it's called. That way people can fly anywhere they want. Take off, hit 'x' key, and you're instantly on approach at your destination.... ::)

People might that that's crazy, but coupling your favorite airliner autopilot to the GPS, speeding time up, and leaving the room to do whatever for a few hours is the same thing, right?

I couldn't agree more.  I usually just do short flights so once I'm up, I'm up for a few minutes, then I have to start planning for the descent and approach.  I could spend hours watching the FS world pass below me, but I usually don't have the time. :P

Just bring up the map window if short of time, drag the plane to nearer the destination and ok it.  I don`t do it, but its possible if you need to.

There is a Alt button in G1000. Set the Altitude and then press Z key to set Auto Pilot mode.
