Somehow I have lost the wave effects... What controls the waves to shore and can they be increased/decreased or does "wind" direction or velocity affect them?

Also, on the DH Beaver, I get no water effects with the pontoons, and
no "wake" behind the airplane.  Does this come in with effects somewhere?  
This is a FSX aircraft and I don't remember this being a problem
until I have been trying to set up some save flights on water
to do more lake flights.

I get the feeling these two are related and I may have to change  settings or I have removed effects or texture somewhere with addon aircraft or scenery maybe.

In your FSX settings go to scenery and move the special effects slider all the way up
