The missions in FSX acceleration are mostly good... but one bastard stands out as a triumphant symbol of gamer frustration...

missing coworker mission

does anyone have the coordinates for the six locations this guy randomly spawns???

i have been in here searching valleys with NO help or guidance of any kind at all from my "co-pilot" for no less than 4 and a half hours. this "fun" mission has shot my evening all to hell and back!

i cant take it anymore.

I have beat every mission in FSX acceleration except sugar loaf and this horrible horrible horrible excuse for a mission.

anyone who has completed this mission can search for my wreckage ANY day of the week!

Close FSX, take a few breaths, grab a beer, drink, ect, and take some time to cool down...

It's just an FSX mission... ;)

i know man...  :-/

its just annoying to spend so much time on something that is supposed to just be a game.

i mean if i really wanted to spend my entire afternoon searching for this downed aircraft i would join the CAP.  ;D

the problem i have is that they give you a search area the size of a small state and just dump you off and you are supposed to start looking around.

no before anyone says "thats how it is in real life" ill go ahead and say that this is a game that you play on your computer for fun.

FSX does a good job in the CAP mission by giving flight plan information of the downed aircraft and providing updated information to hel you piece together the chain of events and locate the downed pilot.

In this mission however there is none of that. you fly to the search area and hope for the best.

you might as well go in your back yard and search for a specific ant.

i have searched around on the internet and have determined that this bozo spawns in 6 random locations.... if i can get those coordinates this game would be solved a lot easier and my entire weekend wouldn't be shot

I didn't even bother with the rest of the missions after the EH-101 mountain rescue. It tells me to raise the winch... only a few seconds later the game thinks I've crashed because the person I'm rescuing came to close to the helicopter.

I'm doing the rocket rescue, and i wiggle my wings off his right hand side, then i go and land at the shuttle facility. i realise he didnt follow me, and he's racked off tothe south, so we're 20miles away when we get the call that the launch is in 3minutes, then we get told that the launch is cancelled cuz the aircraft is too close

once the cessna's pilot sees you rock your wings, your wingman in the F-18 will let you know to go and land. so don't land until your wingman tells you to.

I was having trouble with this mission too.  What I did was press the terrain button on my GPS so I could see the different valleys over a larger area.  This made it easier to check the valleys without checking the same one twice.  When you're getting close to the coworker, you will notice his smoke signal directing you to his location.  Pay attention to what the your co-pilot is telling you.  She gives subtle hints as you are approaching, where to look.

I agree. These missions got problems. I know they are just missions and most people just want to fly in multi player or free flight but if and when i decide i want to do a mission, it should work. They just need to give you a little more help on some of these missions and not make them so sensitive.

Theres no reason that stupid shuttle launch should get scrubbed when the cessna is 20 miles away from the damn pad.

And it shouldn't be that hard for the cessna pilot to see a bad @ss air force jet flying all around him tipping his wings. I've tipped my wings to hell and back, in front of, and on all sides of the cessna and my wingman in the other jet says nothing.

  >:(It should also tell you exactly WHY you have failed a mission so you know what exactly you have to do next time to correct your mistake.
