P51 that comes with Acceleration

I tried the P51 that comes with Acceleration and noticed it pulls to the left, and when I get in the air will start rolling to the left.  What's causing this?

Also, I checked for the key commands to trim the ailerons (CTRL Number 4/6) but it doesn't work, I have to try to use the VC knob with my mouse (which doesn't work very well and I end up over trimming).  Any suggestions?

It is because of that powerful engine under the hood!
It is "torque" that is pulling the Mustang to one side and it does that in real life, as most props do!
Check your "aircraft realism settings".
and lower the torque and other settings that cause the aircraft to "pull to the left  ;)

You can also adjust the aileron trim

It does seem a little unrealistic, one would expect it to yaw but not role quite so much! But then again we all know the secondary effect of yaw...and it is one big ass engine!

Even in a little, 235hp C182, you've got apply significant, right-rudder at the begining of the take-off roll. The P51 Racer has  4000 hp

cool, thanks guys.  I'll start looking for a freeware P51D (I absolutely love that bubble canopy, wish more planes had that).

It is a great model. Pity that it doesn't have a VC

Later marks of Spitfire have the bubble canopy. Also many other fighters like the Hawker Sea Fury. A lot of modern civil types too including the Van's RV3, 4 & 8. Of course, I don't know if any existing examples of these aircraft will be compatible with FSX.

If this one does not have a VC, then I think that the best freeware P-51 EVER is the one from Warwick Carter:
http://library.avsim.net/search.php?Sea ... CatID=root

Good points:
- Excellent exterior model
- excellent sounds
- fantastic VC  8-)
- lots of repaints
- FULLY FSX SP2 COMPATIBLE   8-)

Bad points:
- FPS killer

Here are just two preview shots, to show you what we're talking about:

You might check out the Curtiss P 40s also. You can't look straight back, but you probably have about 280+ degrees of sight with simular power as the P 51 Mustangs

Semper Fi, Dave

And maybe the P-47 at the bottom of this page would be nice as well.

Unfortunatey, it has some display problems in FSX SP2, especially in the VC :/
