I just downloaded the continental 737-300 but like almost every other freeware plane it doesnt come with a VC, only a great looking panel. How do I take the VC from a default FSX plane and put it in my 737-300?

thanx

Oh Snaps! out.

You can't. The VC is part of the model itself. You can only add a VC if you have the source file, which I doubt they will give you.

I wouldn't be so sure about that.

B737_800.mdl
B737_800_interior.mdl

Those two files are contained within the default 737 model folder. The config reads:

[models]
normal=B737_800
interior=B737_800_interior

So it could well be possible to move the interior model over to the freeware model in question. Although this may depend on whether the third party model supports it. Someone will have to try it to find out. ;)

Swapping or adding interior models works... so long as both models are TRUE FSX models. For third party planes, this means the model must have been build and compiled via the GMAX/FSX/SDK (it probably works with an FSDSv3.5 model too, but I'm not sure)..

You can't combine a ported FS9 exterior model with an FSX interior model.

Edit:.. But beware the model's orientation.. If you put a Lear's VC into the AI MD80, you'll be flying that MD80 from somewhere in the passenger cabin..

AND,, the cool part of this is... you can build VCs for planes that don't have them (although I've yet to hear of a true FSX model where the designer didn't make a VC too).. or at least build your own VC when you don't like the released version..
