when you're flying normaly for training or fun Not for take shot how do you set your screen Cfg?

A week ago I find out my FSX runs much better in 1024 x 768 x32bits instead 1280 x 1024 x 32 , How common between AGP users use this settings? and Who else Besides me has AGP cards? :-/

Personaly I wish I could afford a PC express  motherboard and one of thoses 8000 series, unfortuanly I can't , are you using the old AGP? :-/ does your X agp card work fine for you?

Hi Alrot,

I still have my 6800 GT AGP card. When I fly, I used the 1024x768 resoution in the past, but now I prefer to use the 1152x... one, because the impact of the FPS is really small, and the rendering is much better.

I would like to try an upper resolution, but my old CRT 17" screen will not allow it. So I just keep 1152x..., 32 bits colors, 75 Hz, and it's fine :)

well ,well, well ,I didn't espect this ,so almost the half of votes were with 1024x 768 x32 including andrew who has (I think ) a profesional 8800 , I been running in 1280x 1024 x32 all this time , for normal flyight and everything , but once I set it in 1024 x 768 Boy :o the frames rises up

thanks all for your votes now I have a clarler Idea that this setting is much more common among FSX users than I though....

Dave  ;D all monitors are working with 85 -90-75Hz unless someone owns one of those OOOOlds monitors ,those with knobs for bright, size, etc LOL ;D

hey Daube , I saw you in a french forum talking about one of my FSX planes ,Thanks you for such nice comment, I transalated  :), I wish I could find a 6800 ,It has to be better than 6200 ,isn't it? :-/

Thanks to all Guys

Alex

1680x1050x32

Wierdly, it doesnt change my performance noticably when i go to 1280...

I actually don't change settings at all for taking shots, the new rig seems to churn out 35 fps happily on medium-high settings which is good enough for me

1600x1024 (my CRT's max res) all the time... running 1024x768 only gains me about 3fps on average... It's the only thing I don't change when simming or screenshotting...

Isn't it best to use the monitor's native resolution for everything? That's what I do. 1440x900 @75 Hertz

I started experimenting with other resolutions in FSX, and i've done a few flights with the resolution at 1280x1024, and to my surprise, there wasn't really a noticible loss in framerates. Since I installed GEX this morning, FSX is performing even better... :D
