Oh yea, what i found on the internet was;
Tune the nav1 to the runway's frequency (found on GPS), and just adjust the CRS Knob to the runway heading. Use the nav hold switch untill you intercept the glide slope. Then press the approach hold switch.
Bud if i try that, my plane flips out and crashes. :'(
This is not what i call flying and as you discovered it does not work very well.
What you need to do is find out if the runway you will land at has a ILS frequency if so put that into nav1 and set the obs to the same heading of the runway. Then I generally use 1,200 feet AGL [glow=yellow,2,300]make sure you altimeter is set correctly [/glow] start off with 5 to 10 degrees of flaps and slow down accordingly start approach about 10 to 20 miles out further if you want then you line yourself up to the runway using NAV 1 to let you know where the glide slope is.
If any of this does not make sense to you there is no use to going on as you are trying to run before learning how to walk first. If you understand this let me know and i will continue 8-)
