What exacly does the service pack 1 for FSX do? Thanks. And you need  the original FSX disc to install the service pack?

Let see if I can get this right now. Service pack one corrected some problems with FSX and multi core CPU'S I think or is that service pack 2?
I can not remember now for sure but at any rate you do not need the original disk to install any of the service packs for FSX .
And I would advise you to install both service pack one and service pack two If you have or are planing to get Acceleration you need to read the sticky at the top of this forum. 8-)

Yes. SP1 gives FSX the much needed multi-core support, as well as fixes other problems within the simulator.

SP2 just takes it a little further, fixing a few more problems (and creating some more.. lol) and in some cases will give you a performance boost, but that depends on your system and how well it is set up.
