Hi everyone I am a noob here :)

Postby Noob Pilot » Fri Jan 18, 2008 5:34 am

Hey I am new to flight sims - bought FSX standard version with SP2 playing under Vista 32 bit with SLI nvidia 8800 Ultra cards.

I am still getting jerkiness when i oommff up my settings to the max which cause me a lot of dispair and disappointment.

I tried to do a search on tweaking fsx but i am on dialup and google is not responding to my wishes.

Could somoene please point me to the right thread where there are tweaking for vista 32 fsx + sp2 update for fsx?

Thanks in advance I'll just sit here and wait for replies.

Cheers.

Well, first of all you should go out and get FSX Deluxe. I have noticed that the price has gone down about $20 on it recently so it is only $40 something now. You get more missions and a few more aircraft ... it's worth the extra $$$ if you ask me. Also, get the Acceleration pkg. ... again, it's worth it.

Finally, as was already mentioned above, you need to make sure your system can handle it. Personally, I am using 1G RAM w/160G Hard Drive and an obsolete GFORCE 5200 vid. card and the game runs fairly well for me. I can turn the realism settings up pretty high with no issues. If you aren't running at least THAT much computer then you probably need to upgrade the RAM at the least.

I dont really think there are too many people out there that can run FSX maxed out. It's a resource hungry, computer soul sucking beast of software. You're more then likely just taxing your system too much - asking it to do too much.

You've got nice video cards but if your ram and processor aren't up to snuff you'll notice performance issues even if you had the greatest video card on the market.

Take a look at the links provided in this thread for tweaks:
