Missing Component

When I tried to play FSX this evening, I got the following message:

"MSXML4 SP@ component is not installed. Please reinstall Flight Simulator to restore or repair its missing component".

What's going on? I installed SP1 successfully but I have problem installing SP2. Any suggestions? do I have to uninstall FSX? Do I need to install Acceleration?

Google is your friend; learn to use it...  ;)

There's no need to faff around uninstalling and reinstalling...

Download and install the MSXML SP2 from here:

There seems to be a few issues around MSXML... even install issues where something booted with the system will not allow read or write to the needed files.

When that happens an error message appears and a then an install error code

The solution can be different for different reasons but the main fix has been to perform a clean boot and then try and install FSX.

In this case I think he may be missing that SP though. And WU also should have a update waiting after MSXML SP2 is installed

here is the solution for those who still have errors after MSXML is updated:

Thanks fellas. I installed the downloads and that corrected it. Which brings up a question. I successfully installed SP! but I have problems installing SP2. I have it downloaded but when I run the program it kept giving me this box with a series of little boxes and when I clicked on OK, that ended it. Also is Acceleration beneficial?
