Odd Problem With Milton Shupe's Spartan

I know it's not completely FSX/SP2/DX9 compatible. I've sorta fixed the prop problem, besides the issue with it disapearing behind clouds. I'm currently flying across the mid-west, and I noticed that whenever I encounter rain, the windows in the VC mode turn a solid light blue color, and I can't see out the windows. Has anyone else noticed this? Would anyone know if this is a model issue, or a texture format issue that could be fixed by anyone?

Check the FAQ
I provided 2 solutions to rain VC issues. You can either run a repair tool which fixes the glass (no more VC rain possible) or you can restore VC rain to FS9 circraft that have VC rain cockpit windows. The post is down the list on page 1
VC rain DOES work in FSX. It requires the aircraft support VC rain and the FS9 VC rain texture files... you can get those files by seaching for the files I posted

I downloaded the 'rlvcrain.zip' file, and installed it. It fixed the issue while the aircraft was flying, but not while the aircraft was stopped on the ground. I than downloaded the flight1 utility, but since it disabled the effect, I then put the enhanced 'VCRainMoving' files from the 'rlvcrain.zip' download back into the FSX texture folder. Now the effect is there while i'm flying, and I can see outside my windows while i'm stopped on the ground.
Thanks Nick... 8-)

Flight1 told me it was either one or the other to fix. I was told if you use the tool you cant have the animation.
So you are saying you had to run the tool, and, install the FS9 rain textures?
I never tried the process so all I could do is pass on what I was told

In the FSX texture folder, you will find a set of 15 texture files named 'VCRainMoving'. There is another set of 15 texture files named 'VCRainStopped'.
The problem with the 'rlvcrain.zip' package is that it only includes the 'VCRainMoving' texture set. This fixes the problem with the VC windows turning solid blue while flying & enables the rain effect, but does nothing when the aircraft is stopped on the the ground.
So I figured that if I ran the Flight1 utility which fixed both texture sets, but disabled the rain effect, I could simply install the 'rlvcrain.zip' texture set back into the FSX texture folder.
This combination enables the rain effect while flying, and still allows me to see out the VC windows while stopped on the ground.
The rain effect doesn't work while stopped on the ground, and the transition from stopped to the effect working is instantanious, and not gradual, but oh well. It will work for now

You can get a "full set" of VC rain textures at avsim.com. Download vcrain.zip

OK, my bad then
Bill is correct, vcrain.zip has all the files and the default FS9 files backed up too if I am not mistaken
I will note that for future reference
thanks Bill... :)
