When using a downloaded commercial jet and moving it into a gate I can't get the jetway to move to the door.

Ok Its like this. There is some info that needs to be inserted into the aircraft.CFg that tells the jetway where the door is that also goes for baggage carts and fuel trucks. There is a post i think on PAi for some Ai planes and if you dig im sure there info for some of the commercials also.

You need to edit the [exits] section in the aircraft.cfg file for the add-on aircraft that you would like the jetway to move to.  There is an excellent tutorial here:

http://ultimatetraffic.flight1.net/foru ... p?TID=2962

This should help you get started.  It was pretty time consuming and required a lot of trial and error.  This process can be used for all your add-on aircraft.  Make sure you back up your original aircraft.cfg files in case you make a mistake.  If there is a particular aircraft that you have that would like the jetway to move to, then maybe someone in the forum has already done the leg work for that aircraft and may pass the info on.  Just ask.

remember this

when you add those jetways you add the CPU load to the system for all the aircraft they are applied to

That feature is probably the #1 killer of frames and performance when AI traffic is cranked up and the scenery complexity slider is DENSE or above

the sim will start calculating every gate at every airport withing a 50-120NM radius of you

so be aware of that

One of the advantages to getting rid of default and using 3rd party AI is they do not have the gate info in the aircraft.cfg file which means you can jack it up to 60% and not see a hit (assuming you disable the default AI)
