Joystick throttle problems

Postby GreaseMonkey » Mon Jan 07, 2008 1:12 pm

for some reason or other when i came to play fsx the throttle is all messed up. when i move the throttle on my joystick the tiniest bit the throttle on the plane goes to full and wen i move it back the throttle stays at full and i have to use F1 to get it back to idle. Ive tried the settings but nothing happens! does anyone have some suggestions?

Have you tried un-plugging/re-plugging, re-setting and re-calibrating your joystick?

I get really strange behavior from my joystick sometimes (throttle quits working, will not bank right, etc.  I have a MS Sidewinder USB joystick and the only thing that works is to shut down the flight sim, turn off the PC, unplug the joystick, wait awhile and plug it into a different USB port, wait awhile and unplug the joystick, wait awhile and then turn the PC back on and then plug it back into the usb port that you want it plugged into, check and make sure that everything is calibrated, all buttons/throttle, etc. work and then start your flight sim.  I emailed MS three or so years ago and it has something to do with the build up of static, all of the unplugging and plugging back in dissipates the static buildup.  Hope that this helps you solve your problem.

Sounds like you need a new joystick.  Good excuse to get that CH yoke, or X52 8-)
