getting a wierd looking error message at start up

Postby firemonte007 » Sun Jan 06, 2008 5:20 pm

i have been getting a wierd error message at start up...... it says "-0.3499999940395355200000000 is greater than -0.400000059604644800000000"

I have no idea what this is or means. after i click ok the program loads normally and preforms normally execpt with logging on to multiplayer....dont know if that has to do with this or if there is something else keeping me from flying in the multiplayer.  I put in the FSX disks this morning to do a repair thinking that would fix it, after the repair it was still there.  Hope someone knows whats happening. And is anyone else having problems with the multiplayer/gamespy?  Also how do you take a picture of the screen to show everything (start menu, clock, ect) that way i can post a pic of this error.

thank you in advance
jason

You either edited or installed a FX file that has the incorrect math properties to a sprite. The sim is telling you the values are backwards in the FX file.

it has nothing to do with MP issues

However I am assuming that is an FX file error call. I have only seen the sim display that error when one of the lines in an FX file has the values backwards...

If it is a FX file, think back to what aircraft or scenery you recently installed

many add-ons install FX files or overwrite the originals without the user knowing. I do not like it whaen they do that and its always a good thing to decompress or install freeware (and even some payware) aircraft/scenery to a dummy folder, check out what they are installing before moving the contents to the MSFS install. That way if they are trying to overwrite files, when you move them to the MSFS install the system will prompt you and ask if you wish to overwrite a file that already exists.
