Direct X 10

I've been testing different settings using Vista and FSX and it seems that when you click on the DirectX 10 preview selection (on FSX settings menu)
you disable all the add-on textures using the bmp format. The aircrafts show-up on your screen without the textures. Reversing the process caused
an unpleasant graphics problem, the image buffer just can't clear the last pixels causing a blurr. I have installed FSX Acceleration, therefore it's possible some of the problems I had may not occur without it and I imagine under Windows XP this should not be a problem since it only works with DirectX 9. If this happens to You I suggest a fresh new installation and forget about that DirectX 10 preview button if you want to
use add-on aircrafts. Since this is basicly new technology I suggest..patience! Happy New Year ALL!

There are very few addon aircraft that are fully SP2 compatible. That's why you will see problems with most addons. You may find other glitches with SP2, such as aircraft lights not working, and the progressive taxi feature not working either.

I'm sticking with DX9 for now

DX9 for me too.

I have too many add-ons that are far more valuable then a very small difference in graphics.

I have SP2 and I noticed when taxi'ing the default 737 the progressive taxi was gone. Pretty weird.

Hope you are not talking about the default 737 because I have SP2 and the progressive taxi is still showing/available.

Disable DX10 and you will have a few less issues with FSX
