Lost roads, rivers & lakes with Acceleration

Postby Manlyman457th » Wed Dec 26, 2007 6:08 pm

Updated with acceleration, lost all my roads, rivers and lakes. Still had oceans. Reading on another forum to reinstall the hole kit and kabutal, which I did. Got everything back. But now in the process of setting everything back up have 2 new problems! Worked all day yesterday and about an hour today to solve them but no-joy! 1st one, the brake icon in the lower left of the screen stays on. Have gone into control setting and have done all kinds of changes, again no-joy. I have the saitek rudder peddle set. Before I did the reinstall didn't have this problem. It's not that big a deal, but I thought I would mention it. The next problem which is more important is that I have lost my reverser thrust setting. Can't find a key command or a listing in the control set up. Again had it before the reinstall. ?????

Thanks,
David

This would be better off posted in the forum. I did not intend this thread to be support.

As for the issues.. the first one may have been for several reasons which is why I posted to start clean. Addons like UTX have patches for Acceleration and you must verify all the add-ons you use are up to date.

As for the stick issue.. I have no clue. I do not use that product. As I said, that is more a hardware issue and probably best posted in the forum instead of here.

Someone else is having reverse thrust issues and posted it in the hardware forum because that is where such questions belong... http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2 ... 1198023106

Acceleration changes several of the key assignments, which is the popup that appears when the sim is first booted and you tell it YES to allow... perhaps that is why your settings are not working. I do not know.

(1) Open the control settings and look for F2, set this to a button on the stick.  Thats reverse thrust sorted hopefully.  If not, you need to look at your current assignments with a fine tooth comb.

(2) If the brakes actually are on and staying on then you need to sort the stick settings.  If you merely seek to get rid of the message and a few others try this in the FSX.cfg.....

HideInfoText=1

Place after HideMenuFullscreen=1 under [Main]

Then save and start FSX, best to copy the file first before you make the change.  This should stop all but messages on the green line, including the speed messages.

Some may be software probs so I`ll chance it and post here
