I have solved All of my FPS issues, by setting up a dual boot, and running through XP. However I have found one more peice of bliss. The new driver from nVidia. I have never seen my fsx look so good, not to mention Lock-on and Crysis. Let me know what you guys think of this new beta.

you have to remember that everyoens system is differant (most of the time) and so not everyone will get the same effects of upgraded drivers. it works for some and not others. for example i followed NickN's tweak XP guide and things got worse and i followed this guide letter for letter.

Then I will bet you your house, car any bank account, and I will double it in return, the problem is not my guide or the process


More than likely your system is messed up, full of running processes, FSX is not tweaked for the hardware and I will bet the hardware is not even up to FSX spec

and what I mean by FSX spec is not what is on the box.. I mean what FSX really needs in resources to run properly. Or a combination of all of the above.

I have to agree with Nick on this one. That list that Nick gave us should work for EVERYONE using XP as long as you follow it step-by-step. I have that list saved in my flash drive and wheneve I start out from scratch on ANY computer, I pull it out and use it. I've used it on at least three computers: mine, and two belonging to friends. Never have I seen performance loss using that list.

I do not have time to go through it with him but if I were to have him follow my instructions as I post them and tell me what he is running in process, and then have him run checks so I could verify things, I would hit the problem on the head.

If I had a buck for every time someone said my list didnt work, and, after going through it with them online they found out it was not my list that was the problem, I could put fuel in my boat for a long trip.

Tried the new beta, ran the test flight I created for testing performance for each new driver set I install and after looking at the results, immediately went back to the 169.21's.   These new betas don't like my system as much as the last official release.

Same here, lost like 15% fps, went back to 169.25
