invalid Hardware for Acceleration

Postby Milo1272 » Tue Dec 25, 2007 11:28 pm

Hello all,

I just tried to instal Acceleration to my laptop and I get the following error:

"This graphics card does not meet minimum requirements for shader support.  This produce requires a geForce3/Radeon8500 class or better graphics card.  Flight Simulator will now exit."

I can't get the game to load, and it is obvious why - my lousy integrated (!) card.  However, I've been able to run FSX before, albeit on medium/low settings.  I just started to collect parts to build my own desktop but I would like to know if there is anyway I can get around the error above until my new system is complete?  In particular, is there a way to turn off shader support but still fly the planes/missions in Acceleration? Or, must I remove SP2/Acceleration?

Thanks,

Milo

The Shader code for SP2 is different to RTM/SP1. If you have just installed SP2 or acceleration then that explains why you have this problem. Uninstall SP2 til you build your new desktop.

On a laptop you say? Is the graphics chip an intel xtreme/gma? You need a mobile ati or nvidia to support acceleration due to the new shaders as the previous poster mentioned. My friend discovered the same thing on his Toshiba which is pretty decent except graphic chip.
