FSX or FS9?

Postby mmoaddict94 » Tue Dec 25, 2007 11:41 am

Hey, I got $110 for Christmas and I've been wanting a FS for some time. I was thinking about getting FSX but I looked at the reviews and website and screenshots and to tell the truth I see no difference from FSX and FS2004 other than a few maps and planes that are downloadable anyway. So I was wondering, is it worth the extra money? Should I just go with 2004 and save a few bucks? Or should I spend more to get a few planes and maps? You guys know more about the game than me (obvoiusly) so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

EDIT: I also only have 512 megs of RAM, so if that will make fsx run slow please tell me.

welcome

I'm not sure about 512 Ram, I can work , but not well..you also have to be aware of the rest of the specs like video card, prosesor etc. before you go and throw your money make sure you have enough hardware to run FSX..

Welcome to the SimV and a merry christmas to you!

Give us your specs and we'll see what works for you. I'll tell you right off the bat that 512MB of RAM is NOT going to cut it. AT LEAST 2GB for FSX. Also, do you have Vista or XP? Vista is more demanding than XP so you'll need even better specs if you're running Vista, although I do doubt that you have Vista cus you only have 512MB.
