I remeber when I used to mess with FS9 there was some sorta program from Microsoft's site that would open up aircraft files and it was easier to use and had an interface, I found it easier than notepad and you could easily edit gauges and make clones of planes.
Is there such a program for FSX.. or somebody know of the FS9 variant so I can try it with FSX? Cause I need to try to put digital gauges in my Cessna..
I think the FS9 one came with a SDK, you put it in your install folder, think it was called aircraftconfig?

What is is you want to edit?

the 'aircraft.cfg' file is in FSX the same as FS9 - just open it in notepad

The '.air' file can be edited with aired but this should be done with great care & keep an origi9nal of the original (however the worst you will do is make that aircraft unflyable)

I think you mean FSEdit. This was posted separately in the FS2004 SDKs which are now hosted here. http://www.scenery.org/tutorials_fs2k4_SDK.htm

The FS9 version won't be compatible with FSX. It's possible a new version is included with the FSX SDK which comes bundled with FSX Deluxe.
