You basicly treat mesh the same way you would any scenery. What I usually do is to make a folder inside of the addon folder and call it MESH_FILES then you will need to make a scenery folder inside of it. Then just put any Mesh files into this folder. By doing it this way you will only have to activate the folder just once. Even if you add more mesh files they will automatically register themselfs.
As for the benefit of mesh it depends upon what method was used to make the mesh file and what is called the LOD(Level Of Detail) some are great while others are only so so. About all you can do is to try them if you do not like them just remove the file. 8-)

The only terrain mesh worth installing is FSGenesis 10m USA and World mesh so you can set your slider to 10m

No need for any fancy folder instructions or scenery.cfg change, just run the FSG installers for each mesh package and it will install the files where they belong then set the terrain mesh slider to 10m

This brings up a dumb question - if you have FSG installed is there any harm/gain in setting slider lower than 10M or does it not make any difference?

Aside to Nick - I see the 169.21 (XP) have gone WQHL - have you tested the certified version yet?

Thanx,

Vic

You will not get the defined benefit running the mesh at its designed resolution provides but there will still be some benefits because missing elevations from the defaults 38m scenery mesh will have some reference to display. I don

OOps - I meant going the other way - if you have 10m mesh and set the slider to 5 - any harm/benefit? Doesn't seem to look any better or worse.

Thanx,

Vic

all that will do is slow your computer down for nothing. If the if mesh is only 10m, setting it to 5 will force a longer boot time and will net no visual difference what so ever.
