Excited!

Got my new video card today! (Found it for $145 on Newegg, and $76 at the Circuit City I work at! :o :o Newegg lost their purchase  :P).

Also decided to pick up Acceleration while I was at it.

So; Clean install of FSX Deluxe & Acceleration with the following system:

eMachines T3256 hardware, off the bat.

Only upgrades will be maxing out the RAM (2GB DDR PC2700);
And my new Nvidia Geforce 7600GS AGP8X 512mb card.
Processor is a single core AMD 3200+ (2.2GHz, I believe).
The OS is Windows XP.

How well do you think it will run? Last time I ran it (Just after SP1 came out); I was getting 10-15 constant non-choppy FPS with an X1050 (Radeon 9550) video card (256mb) and 512mb RAM.

How will Acceleration and all that run, and what kind of problems might I expect to occur?

Oh; I've already installed FSX twice. Is that Call-Microsoft-To-Reactivate-it-after-two-uses thing still in effect? Or will it not matter since I have Acceleration now as well?

Lots of questions; I know; but I'm excited  :P

You don't need to call Microsoft to reactivate unless you have installed on more than one computer or have made significant changes to your computer. I don't think just changing a video card will require a reactivation. The sim looks at the hardware installed on the system it is installed on and sends a sum of that to Microsoft. If you have only made minor changes the sum will be within an acceptable range and it won't count as another install just as a reinstall. I'm not certain what can be changed but I imagine people are always adding video cards so I doubt that will count.

Just to let you know, fsx uses more of the cpu then graphics card.  So ya might try ocing your cpu to get better performance from fsx. I have a e6600 oc @ 3.6ghz and stock clock 8800gtx and get around 40fps in most areas with the sliders on high to very high, but there are some areas that it drops to around 15fps. I also heard today that if using an on-board sound card that will cost you a few fps as well. So maybe a add on sound card might help some too.
