Am I whipping a dead horse?

I have just installed FSX and have a eyepoint view problem as follows:

1. I fly only with the 2D cockpit so all comments apply to that configuration.

2. I use the shift+ enter or shift+backspace command to move the eye point up or down, or at least that's what I'm trying to do but it won't work. They eye point doesn't move.

3. I have looked under assignments and sure enough these are the proper commands to use for this purpose.

4. I've tried most of the conventional tricks, such as uninstall and re-install, etc, without luck.

5. Since these commands work for the 2D cockpit in FS9 I assume they will work the same way in FSX, or will they ? Am I trying the impossible ?

6. Is anybody else having this problem, or as usual am I the only one experiencing difficuly.

7. If I cannot move the eyepoint in the 2D cockpit with FSX then I'm totally disgusted with FSX.

Any and all answers appreciated.

I believe it's  ctrl q  to raise your seat, and shift ctrl q to lower it--least that's what I do. And backspace puts you back to normal.

Well, in FSX there is a new feature called 2-D panel transperency, In the display settings tab you can adjust the transperency of the panel so you can see through it, while still being able to read your gauges.

Altright, I take it the 2D cockpit panel is blocking your view?

OK - the problem is solved - I think. Traced it to a defective wireless keyboard. For some reason it doesn't always respond to a shift+enter command. Since it is still under warranty I'll take it back
to Best Buy.

Thank you each and all.

But you can Grab the 2d panel in any place with the pointer of the mouse and left click  and lower a bit , I just did it and it works.
