Default AI Disapearing.

Why is it when I load some WOAI packages that my default AI (737's,747's etc) disapear and I only see the WOAI aircrafts?

Example, when loading up Honolulu I see some Boieing 717 with Hawain paint schemes, but no 747's etc..

I changed the paints on my AI defaults and would like them to remain in the air but at the same time see my extra AI planes loaded from WOAI.

Im using FSX Accel..

Thanking helpers in advance!

I could be wrong but I believe that the WOAI traffic BGL's are still created using the FS9 format ( TTools "compatible" ).

If that is the case, then all FSX format  traffic BGL's will be disabled...AI aircraft and ships.

The solution would be to run those WOAI traffic BGL's through one of the converter utility
programs. There are are at least a couple available.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. I hated landing at a desolate airport in the middle of Saudi Arabia.

Can you link me with a converter?

another alternative is to place all the WoAI (or other) FS9 traffic bgl's in their own folder... create/move them to: ADDON SCENERY\AI FLIGHTS\SCENERY folder where they will not cancel out the FSX traffic bgl. You will need to enable that in the scenery database when FSX starts just like any other addon scenery

There are other minor issues with running an FS9 traffic file that has not been converted however the reason the FSX traffic is removed is because a FS9 and FSX traffic bgl file can not exist in the same folder. Moving them to addon scenery will allow both to run.

If run through the converter they will run fine together in the same folder.

Thanx all for the help.

I really appreciate :)

I found that downloading ALL the packages from WOAI doesint require the default planes as it mostly fill up the airspace.

Even in some of the most remote places

I noticed some of the WOAI packages does have callsigns programmed into them and some not. Not a biggy. I'll just try and edit thensee if I can just get the airlines name displayed in the ATC without editing the voicepack. Hope it works if not I'll keep it as it is.

Just one last thing, you mentioned aircraft sliders 59%. Any reason for this as I am currently having both sliders at 100%.

I am still uploading all the packages, only have night as work during the day keep me occupied.

Do you mention 59% because there might be an overload of AI at airports having sliders at 100% using replacement AI?

And as for the military packages at WOAI, I noticed they mentioned for FS9. Would they work in FSX by anychance?

Thanx Nick

The 59% suggestion was based on the entire world being filled with aircraft, airline and GA, like mine is. If you have not filled up all your airports, 80% would be the MAX number I would run.

100% is forcing quite a bit of CPU time and if you are experiencing any blur or other issues I would reduce AI traffic to between 59-80% max.

You need to remember as you raise traffic you are forcing the sim to increase its AI radius calc
