Texture Defects

In FSX, both default and add-on textures appear all blurred and illegible.  Its horrible to look at.  I was wondering if anybody knew how to fix this problem.

Nick

PS:  I tried putting all settings at full, yet still they came up severely blurred.

What are your system specs? I hope you did not think that just because your system meets the minimum requirements that it would run decently. :o Microsoft has all ways under stated the system requirements and tend to lead people in to a false sense of security.
In order to run FSX and get a descent picture with descent frame rates one needs a fairly strong system. But like the specs state FSX will run as long as you meet the requirements just do not expect bells and whistles. 8-)

Out of the box everything was fine:P Now though (a year later) all of the textures are screwed up, and I've actually improved my system since then.

Once I noticed that a textured slider was way down. I put it up and the textures looked like they should.  Now though whenver I try that trick... no luck.

Lower the texture_max_load=1024 to texture_max_load=512. If that fixes it then you don't have enough VRAM or somehing is hogging it. Also try turning down anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, scenery complexity and AI.

Have you played around with the fsx.cfg? When you change the settings in fsx.cfg, the sliders which control those settings won't work so when you max them nothing changes. Try restoring the original cfg file and see if it fixes your problem.

How can I access the CFG.  I might have messed something up a while back.

Slotback, what your talking about is in the FSX.cfg, the textures cfg... because this happens to all textures

NO.

Turn DOWN Global texture resolution. Turning it up will most likely make it worse.
