Hi, I've installed FSX and acceleration today (had a complete format and overhaul...)...all ok except for AA.

I can't turn on AA....if I turn it on the game I'll loose significant fps so I do as usual, turn it on the nvidia software over riding the application setting...but it just doesn't work...no matter what I do..aa only works from within the game itself....

any help??

thks

cheers

If you are using a NVIDIA card, they have a built in profile for FSX which disables hardware forced AA. There is a post from Nick somewhere on the board about that issue. Get a program like Nhancer delete all of the profiles from Nvidia and use Nhancer to globally set your AA and Antriscopic filtering.

You do not delete them. That has changed since Nvidia has been trying to defeat Nhancer and Riva Tuner (for overclocking) so you are forced to use their software for their cards.

For the latest Nvidia drivers (including the betas) you need the latest version of Nhancer

You do not delete the profiles, you find the FS9 and FSX profiles, highlight, click DUPLICATE and then proceed to make the SAME settings I posted for the DUPLICATE profile, AND the GLOBAL settings in Nhancer. Also, you need to make a few changes to the Nvidia drivers (directly in the Nvidia control panel) that Nhancer does not change

Well, I have an AMD/ATI card (HD2900XT) and I've been having the same problem with AA... no AA for me in DX10 mode! I hope it is fixed by the new Catalyst 7.11 due this month.
