i havent downloaded fsx yet because my dad is going to put in a new hard drive and new software, but i have a question for fsx.

when you taxi and park at the gates, do the gates stretch out and attatch onto the plane? and are there ground services?

you have to hit Ctrl + J, or is it Shift?  I dunno, either Ctrl, or Shift + J only if you're parked properly, at an airport with those gates.

also, baggage and other stuff come only when you open cargo doors, which is usually Shift + 1,2,3,etc.

the fuel truck will come if you hit, dang, forgot again.   Ctrl, or Shift + F...

You must have patience though.  Fuel truck can take a while, but other services are pretty quick.  oh yeah, Shift+P if there is a pushback truck in front of you, will have the pushback truck, well, push you back...

He forgot to mention that the gate dosnt work wioth all aircraft, there are a couple of things that need to go in the cfg file for them to work, especaially on ported aircraft. Most new planes should be ok.

Oh right, sorry.  I thought it was kinda obvious, but now that I think of it, it isn't.

Obviously, light planes, in otherwords, anything other than airliners or commercial jets won't work with the jetways (at least I don't think so).  However, addon planes, imported from FS9 for example, or maybe FS9 addon planes may not work with the jetways because of CFG entries not being there, much like FS9 planes not having self-shadowing.

The FS engine requires that when an aircraft is to be used for the sim, certain tags, or 'flags' as they are more commonly know, must be set in order for the engine to say, okay, I'll do that.

So, by default, FSX aircraft should work fine.  However, there is no guarantee that addon aircraft will work too.

And finally, probably one of the most important things, make sure 'Advanced Animations' is on.  If not, no fancy features like flexing wings, or moving jetways...

"I havent downloaded fsx yet"

Are you going to? Let me tell you that that is illegal! Go to a store and buy the game. That's all I wanted to say... I'll leave it up to the mods to do or say something else if they think it's appropriate.

Steady on Hugo. No need to get your bowels in an uproar. I suspect that by downloaded chase_23 actually meant installed. This is not an uncommon mistake.

LOL, I love the way people have read 'downloaded FSX' & then just clicked straight on the reply button to condone Chase_23's piracy.

Lets have a bit of patience & read the whole thread first shall we?

;D ;D
