Acceleration Mustang Problem

I can't get the P-51 Mustang to trim the rudder or ailerons. During taxi it does a hard left and in flight requires rudder and aileron input to get it straight and level. My trim buttons work on the other aircraft so I know it is not my stick (X52).
Was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem.

Are you sure it has rudder and aileron trim?

The Mustang (WWII era) has rudder and aileron trim, but I'm not sure if its a Reno racer or a WWII era fighter. Also the Mustangs engine produces massive amounts of torque, so this maybe from that :-/

No I'm not sure. But it is not fun to fly the way it is.

It sounds like it's just the torque and the other left turning tendencies. You could try turning down the sliders in the realism settings if you don't want to have to constantly be on the stick and rudder. But then again, that's the fun of flying it...

Turn on "Autorudder" if you don't want to be bothered with using stick and pedals to counter the torque...

Yes, the mustang has much torque. The RW mustang is said to do torque rolls quite easy and is an aircraft that has to be constantly "flown." Don't forget, a somewhat unstable aircraft is a manuverable aircraft .
However, like many things, it is possible that the Mustage torque effect is a bit overdone.
I will reserve judgement until I actually install Acelleration.

I can deal with the torque, just want to make sure there was nothing wrong with the install.
Thanks for all the replys.

Its not the torque! I had the same problem....the thing is, all of the fuel is in the left wing. The correct amount of fuel for the P-51D is 49.5%. I suggest you turn on unlimted fuel.

Hmmmm, interesting. I've taken off with 100% full tanks and didn't have this problem. I had my realism settings turned down low because my sticks rudder axis is ultra sensitive even with the sesitivity turned down in the sim (Cheap stick and I get tired of fishtailing up and down the runway), and it flew just fine for me.

Ok, I installed Acelleration and I'm running FSX under XP.
I flew the Mustang. Although it is far from easy to fly (as it shoud be) I didn't experience anything to an extreme for the most part.
On thing I did noticed however. It seemed to exhibit too much inertia in proportion to its mass. This is particularly evident on landing and handels more like an aircraft the size of a DC-3, for exmaple.

Yes, I agree. It is too much of a powerful yank when you first start running down the runway. It is understandable when you are up in the air and it banks due to the torque of the huge propellers. However, it is still an awesome plane to fly. I just got a hold of XPack today and had time to install and fly for about five minutes. So far I have noticed that it took care of most of my stutters and the overall performance increased a little. I'll have to do more testing to see exactly how much it has helped. Unfortunately I've had things to take care of tonight so I'll have to wait till tomorrow morning or night.

So, has this problem been solved? If so, can you tell me how?
