:) I am running FSX with XP and was wondering if I ran FSX with Vista and DX10, if there would be any performace loss keeping the same system specs that I have posted in my signature below.

If you run fsX: Accelerate in DX10 mode you will GAIN performance in Vista. 20-50% better performance. :)

If i where you i would keep XP and get DX10 and Acceleration. Then you will get great performance and get Vista when it has good SP's.

DX10 only works with Vista, not XP.

Evedently, some are experiencing FPS hits when running Acelleration under DX10/VISTA.
Even Phill Taylor is at a loss as to why this is and they are looking into it.
There is some speculation that it may be a (graphic) driver problem.

So, for now I am sticking to XP/DX9 with FSX until this is sorted out.
I will probably install Acelleration tomorrow.

I`d read that as may, not will.........  Theoretically it works, in practise a lot are getting video driver problems which are stopping that from happening.  Just use some caution and don`t believe all you read.....  When it works, it works well, its a chance you take at the moment.

Yep, when I first installed, I had a major hit on fps (from 20 down to 2), but I downloaded new beta drivers from Nvidia, and now it positively flys under DX10.
Many areas now give me 40 fps or more, but I limit it to 20 myself.
I'd say it's almost definitly a driver issue.

Sounds like FPS are faster with XP for now. Thanks for the info I am gonna stick with XP untill things change. I have my diplay settings up and I am running at 32 fps on every part of the map smoothly including major cities.  8-)
