air file modifications

Postby stick4000 » Sun Oct 21, 2007 11:23 pm

hello all. i just downloaded the fs kbt model of the f18. its an awesome package. i installed all the addons. the textures, the hud and the speed update file. when i insert the new speed file it asks do i wish to overwrite. i say yes. it goes in. the speed doesnt change. the most i can get out of the aircraft is mach 1.2 to 1.3 when diving. has anybody here had the same problem? also is modifying the air file to increase speed, a good or bad thing? if good where can i get an air file editing program from. appreciate any responses. get some.

Not that this helps but...

I have heard that it is hard work getting air files to work right and to be realistic. As everyone SHOULD know the F/A-18 does M 1.8 at full afterburners max. Witht he KBT Model i havn't found lower speeds i have found higher speeds. I have gotten up to mach 4.3 in level flight at 3000 feet in the air and lower! I don't know what's wrong but i too would like to edit the air file.
