Changing/correctingCFG entries:view/aircraft/panel

Greetings to everyone!
1.
I often encounter problems with aircraft contact points and would like to change those, so that aircraft are actually touch the ground with all wheels.
2.
Some panels are fine, some are just not right for the aircraft. I do change panels, and add e.g. GPS (like the 500 better than the 1000)
3.
Outside cockpit view. I downloaded the "Precious Metal Convair". Nice plane, but the screen just showed a blue or near black (night) outside. After changing the panel I had an outside view. So I conclude, that there is something wrong with the panel CFG.

Is there anyone out there who could help me (and others) to understand the problem and how tho change settings to solve theses issues? Or is there a tutorial for such matters?

IKE

Hi Ike. Did you mean the Corsair posted here? http://www.simviation.com/fsxvintage12.htm
I checked it out in the FSX Demo & the panel seems to work fine. Make sure you installed it correctly as the way the file's been configured makes it a bit tricky.

As for the contact points the gear entries are usually point.0 (nose/tailwheel), point.1 (left main) & point.2 (right main). The vertical position is the entry I've marked in red on the example below.

point.0=1,
