ATC now dumber in FSX than in FS9

When I was using fs9 I experimented to test ATC. Set up the wind direction and strength to a runway heading in user defined weather.ATC would then direct me to t/o or land into the wind using the correct runway. It was right about 90% of the time. In fsx it is almost never correct. In a test I ran in fsx in 25 landings at different airports ATC directed me to land into the wind once. Usually having me land downwind. Is ATC ignoring the settings in user defined weather? If so,is there a way to get ATC to pick up the settings in user defined weather? [smiley=dankk2.gif]

Also ATC hates helicopters, even online its fun to hear them stumble round trying to find something to tell you ;D. I guess they don't know helicopters fly opposite the traffic pattern and don't care if the RWYs being used or not :P

Ask any professional pilot and they may tell you ATC is not very smart in real life so it sounds like Aces got that part right

That implies that there should be more aircraft crashing around :o :o

no, it implies the pilots we have in the air are very sharp and on the ball

At least they won't fly you right into the side of a mountain. I haven't seen that since FS2002.

Not always true, on both accounts.  Helicopters will either not fly a traffic pattern, or if they do, it will often be in the same direction as fixed-wing aircraft to reduce complexity.  It's for the same reasons you don't have fixed-wings flying left and right traffic patterns, or patterns into and out of the wind.  Also, you'd be hard pressed to find a pilot who wouldn't care if a helicopter was flying an approach or  landing off the runway right next to you while you're landing.  I did a lot of flying this summer in the pattern with the local Med-flight helicopters, and most of the time, they wouldn't be in the pattern at all, and if they were, they would fly the exact same pattern as we would.
