Keyboard input into default GPS

I am sure that it is detailed in the Learning Centre somewhere but I can't find it.

Is there a key or key combination that allows keyboard entry into the GPS?

It would be so much quicker to type in an airport or waypoint identifier than use the click spots on the dual knob.

thanks LLamedos, I have got it to work.

But there is a trap for young players.  In this country airport designators begin with Y.  So typing Y after bringing up the Direct-to box, sets the plane into slew mode with all the fun that brings.

I found that I had to click one of the arrows on the inside knob FIRST after which the letters can be typed in.  But I guess you guys knew that, but I am old and slow to learn new tricks.

Many thanks,

and yes you use the knobs in the real-world, but you turn them, you don't have to click.
