Hi,
I fly out of the UK and so I would like to use Millibars and Feet as the measurements of choice.
I have changed the general/international settings to Hybrid, but when I try and fly they still have inches of Hg.

What am I doing wrong??

I believe in of Hg is used on all altimeters (that measure in feet at least), regardless of where you are.  Many altimeters have both millibar and in of mercury settings though.

I believe the gauge itself is responsible for unit conversion. As Mobius said, some altimeters do display both, but it'd be up to you to make the gauge swap if the particular panel you want to use is only in inHg.

Thanks for the above. I am only using the default FXS aircraft though, do they not make the change automatically?
If not how do I change the gauges to display millibars?

The only way I know of is to either the edit the gauge or to replace it with a gauge that shows both.

If you have a gauge in your fleet that has both than all you would have to do would be to replace the the other gauge with the one you have and that could be done by editing the panel CFG file of the plane with the wrong gauge find the line that mentions the wrong gauge and replace the name with the name of the other gauge.[glow=yellow,2,300]Example
02=cessna-152.gau[/glow] replace it with 02=KingAir!alt.gau
The actual line will look something like this I am at work and do not rember the exact wording.

The only problem you might run into will be the size of the different gauges you can move a gauge by editing the numbers after the gauge. However this can be tricky to say the least since you can not tell where the gauge will show up at with out running FSX
There is a pay ware program CALLED FSPANEL STUDIO that takes all of the guess work out of panel editing. I own a copy and if you need to edit or to add gauges to any panel this program is a must as you see the actual panel of the plane without running FS 8-)
