Hi All,

  I am plannign in buying a new PC and am very much interested in FSX. I definitely want to have FSX run smoothly on the new pc. My question is what would be your recomendation and what price range I'm looking at?

 It seems to me that it will cost me above $2000.

 Now if I have to compromise, becuase of the price, could you please priorotize which components are less important: please start the list from the LEAST important:

-cpu
-RAM
-Graphic card
-Hard drive

A super computer?

Simply put, you cannot run it on todays hardware mate. Wait another year or so, then enjoy it. But for now..if you want to have a good balance between graphics and performance..I would focus on the graphics card, and CPU. They are all just as important as each other, but you may be able to skive off with said parts. With RAM and hard drive, you get faster load times, and "smoother" frames, but you don't really get much except for .5 of a frame, if at all. FSX is dependent on the graphics card and CPU, for the most part. I do recommend you have at least 1 gig of RAM so you don't wait for an hour for the simulator to load.

So, in list form, and starting from the least important...

~RAM~
~Hard Drive~
~CPU and Graphics Card Tie With Each Other~

And again, each component is really just as important as the other..but the CPU and card are infront of the others...just BARELY.

I just built up a new system specifically to improve my performance in FSX. Total cost with
tax and shipping came to around $1500 from NewEgg.
Here's what I purchased ( I used my existing monitor, a floppy from another old system, keyboard, atc )

CPU:     Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80562Q6600
M-Board: GIGABYTE GA-P35C-DS3R LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard
Memory:  CORSAIR Dominator 2GB DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit
Video:   EVGA 640-P2-N821-AR GeForce 8800GTS 640MB 320-bit GDDR3
HD's:    2 x Seagate Barracuda ES ST3250620NS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s
DVD\CD:  LITE-ON 20X DVD

there are 5 things very important to account on the use of FSX Otherwise it wont run smoothly never buy a whole computer, buy them piece by piece (use windows xp pro. 32 bit)

1) A good motherboard (I use Striker Extreme 680i sli)
2) A good processor      (I use intel Core2 due E6600  conroe 2.4 Ghz)
3) A good video card     (I use GE Force 8800 GTS 768 MB 384 bits pci express)
4) A Good memory RAM ( I use 4 bars of one g each DDR2-800 PC6400 Super Talent
5) and a good power supply ( I use Thermaltake toughpower W0117RU. 750w
I also recommend you to get the FSX (de luxe version) and use all patches and updates
And for the use of joystick use Saitek)
