Cheers! I'm posting this for a fellow FSX friend who's having some FSX and SP1 issues. I thought this would be the place to get expert advise on the subject. For whatever reasons, he would like to uninstall SP1 and start again clean. He has tried the Control Panel Add/Remove proceedure, but he keeps getting errors and SP1 won't uninstall. What is the correct proceedure to uninstall SP1? No doubt there's something somewhere in the forums on this subject...I just couldn't find it.
Many Thanks and Regards in advance,
Nigel

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the only option he has to "roll" back to pre-SP1 is to uninstall the game, and reinstall FSX from scratch. If he has any add-on scenery, aircraft, etc he'd like to preserve tell him to be sure to back those files up before uninstalling FSX.

Was "show updates" checked in A/R P? If not, then the update wont show. If so, then you can uninstall SP1.

Many Thanks Sovien...I'll pass that along!
Phil...The update did show in Add/Remove. After clicking to Remove, the 1722 error thing started and SP1 still shows in Add/Remove.

Hmmm :-? That's weird because I have installed/uninstalled FS9, FSX and SP1 in both XP and Vista, literally about 20 times while tinkering with all this new stuff in the last year. My Vista Home Premium (32 bit) does not ask add/remove like Windows XP. Vista actually asks if you want to "Uninstall?", but the outcome was always the same, it uninstalled immediately, no problems. Re-installs went the same also, just the regular procedure. I did go back to running XP for a couple of months a while back, again, tinkering, but still never had any problems getting both FSX and SP1 to install/uninstall. Hope you can get all your bugs worked out. I know, all too well, how aggrevating bugs are. Semper Fi, Dave

Many thanks to all! Guess he decided to just do a complete FSX uninstall and start fresh again as per one suggestion...easier than constant tinkering I guess.
Thanks and Regards,
Nigel
