B17 Fuddy Duddy

Hi friends.
downloaded and installed "Fuddy Duddy" on FSX. Flies great, BUT on the ground it just rolls straight, impossible to steer this plane.
I have other taildraggers which handle the way they do

.
Please let me know if I can adjust setting somewhere (Aircraft.cfg??)
Thanks

Hi Ike. I just tried Fuddy Duddy. The tailwheel is configured as fully castoring which is realistic for the B-17. Steer on the ground by using the differential brakes (Num Pad * & -) or engines if necessary. This works very well. Remember to hold the stick back while taxying.
If you want to cheat change the tailwheel Steering Angle in the [contact_points] section of Aircraft.cfg. Try 40 degrees to start with.
[contact_points]
point.0= 1, -33.250, 0.000, -6.450, 1575, 0, 1.200, 40.000, 0.824, 2.500, 0.622, 5.500, 5.500, 0

Thanks a lot Hagar!
Will try the numerical pad, and if that doesn't work I'll try to "cheat"

. haha
I have no problems with other taildraggers though... Tried the B17 Props via the ECU, doesn't work either. That 2D ECU is anyhow a DC3 version for 2 engines, and the 3D unit does not work....
best

P.S. Great Forum, where one actually gets answers

Oh, I forgot. I use a laptop without separate numeric pad. I'll try it anyway.

The differential brakes work fine. Just a thought. Make sure the tailwheel lock is not applied. (Shift + G)

I had already noticed that.

Hi,
I downloaded the Goodyear blimp. Works fine, even though the panel looks flimsy.
Now, what I'd like to see is a version of the "HINDENBURG" that is complete and works in FSX... A job for someone enthusiastic about those great Cigars, ha. plans and the like can be obtained on line.

In addition to differential breaking, try using differential engine power (ie only right hand side engines for a left turn). This works well in FSX by dragging the handles manually. Not sure how you could control it with keybord commands + throttle though.

thanks Hawk, I normally use manual throttle on twin or more engine planes, if the ECU works, but on this plane neither the 2D nor 3D can be used, i.e. the plane does not respond, just rolls straight...
