Well the hook should work on carriers and NASs providing you've installed suitable software such as the Carrier Gauges package or Flight Deck

Has anybody tried to use the freeware software 3wire with FSX ?
It's like Arrestor cable stuff, but it doesn't require any modification to the planes, it will directly work with any plane that has a tailhook.
It knows by default the position of all the default carriers of FS9, as well as the carriers in the car2004a.zip package. It automatically manage arrestor cables, and there is a catapult system too (that works from everywhere, not only on the catapults). Very cool software, I loved it in FS9, but I didn't check if it was working with FSX at all... I guess it won't :-[

im still trying to fiqure out how to lower my tailhook for FD4
(flight deck 4, you knwo, with the aircraft which besides the heli, There throttles are so sensitive, a slight movement can send you from approach to out of the site if the carrier...
Then eventually you hit light speed and travel without a plane, ( cos it got torn apart like halfway between the soundbarrier and Light barrier

thats because the flight dynamics of the FD4 planes are HORRIBLE!!!! i was really upset when i first tried to taxi the superhornet on the carrier...

regarding dx10, it comes with vista the only thing is you need the patch for the game. for one i know that crysis is coming with dx10 and fsx adrenaline is not needed to install the dx10 patch on fsx. but it would be good to get it. because it will improvise your game experience.
