ILS problem

Stock 737-800, the ILS always flies me into the ground about a mile or so from the runway. I fly an IFR route, follow ATC to pick up the localiser, the aircraft turns to runway heading and then desends with what seems like a normal rate, but way to soon. Any ideas.

Do you end up stalling ?  Or just hitting the ground, way too early (prob way too fast ) ?

Are you at the proper airspeed for each step of the approach ?  Proper amount of flaps deployed at the proper time ?  Have you mastered landing manually so that the whole approach/landing sequence is second nature ... so you'll be able to identify the problem before crashing ?

Are you at a safe landing weight ?  Trying to hold a proper glideslope at a proper airspeed is tough in a plane at MGTOW.

Setting up ILS approaches (even if you plan on letting the autopilot fly them  ::)  ) comes much easier when you've done it all, many times (realistically), by hand.

Speed is good and stable with flaps set, weight was also OK. The aircraft just appears to take a glide slope that wants to land it a mile or so early.

You say it  "always" flies you into the ground ...   As in every airport, every ILS ?

I know there are a few buggy ILSs in FSX, but if it happens to you always.. something fundemental is amiss. I don't want to keep speculating, so I'll wait on more data..

It happened on a flight into Heathrow, several times. Maybe I should try another airport or two to see if it is me or FSX. I am not new to this, and never had a problem 2004 so it is really ......me off. The only thing that comes to mind, is once the localiser was picked up, I turned off alt hold. Everything else was set as it should be.

You manually turned off the altitude AP? It's supposed to turn off by itself when it's time for it to begin descending toward the runway.
