Hi all,

It seems that the release 2 of that plane is now released as freeware.

Has anybody downloaded it and tested it on FSX ? Is it worth the download ? How is the VC ? etc...

According to the web site it states for FS9 only so it might not work in FSX I am downloading it as I write now but will not be able to check it out till I get home. 8-)

i downloaded it has a setup thing i used to install it into fsx/sim objects/airplanes but the plane does not show up in the menu!
Does any 1 know how to install it

The original commercial version works in FSX, Vista.  Buttttttttt, 2-4 gauges are not accepted or cause problems.  I dleted them after finding which ones they are.  The plane starts, it moves and then it stops!!!  It runs out of fuel even soon after filling up 100%.  I imagine one of the gauges is the problem as its the fuel dump gauge.  Its on my to do list to isolate the gauges and change for working ones.  I`m trying this one to see if its any better.

So far with this Freeware version, in FSX and using Vista 32 bit......

Install to FSX as normal, open the Aircraft folder in FSX and cut all the RFP 742 textures plus the Panel Folder, then paste them in the normal Simobjects/Aircraft folder (inc the Panel Folder 'as is').  You will have the following errors when you try it out......

RT_742_Spot_Tape (appears 3 times)
RT_INS (appears 20+ times)

Go into the panel folder and cut/paste these gauges to a folder on your desktop, called 'Dump gauges'.  Keep them there and it will remind you what to look out for and replace in the panels......

RT742_Analog_Appr.GAU
RT742_Analog_Night_F.GAU

That will kill the first problem message, you will need to locate replacements for these at some point.

Search Avsim or similar for 'Civa 150' (its an INS gauge to replace the RT_INS gauge provided).  Install it after download, then go to the Civa folder in FSX.  You`ll find the stuff to paste into the panel, don`t fuss too much at this stage, you really don`t need it working yet, there are more important problems to sort out first.

Go through both panel types and remark out with // any examples of RT_INS  If you see an example of Civa.INS then take out the //

Keep swapping between the BA and the Canadian plane and trying to see if all complaints re the two above RT742 gauges are gone, keep searching again through the panels untill all complaints are gone.  The Civa 150 can be properly be integrated into the panels later, for now you can use the sat/nav instead, at least the warnings are gone.

For test purposes the BA already has the engines started but it will run out of fuel in a very few minutes.  Open up the fuel panel and at the lower left is a hidden panel for refueling.  My cover is jammed, won`t open but I`m guessing if you manage to get it open the following may give you more time to fly.  Turn on the electrics to this board, open the fuel fill valves and put something like 5000 into the fuel fill meter.  Theoretically it may keep filling up, even though the fuel dump or whatever is trying to empty the fuel.  Commenting this out in the panel or replacing with another dump gauge doesn`t seem to help.  I think the present dump gauge is keyed into an older version of FSUIPC.

I have had the plane in the air but the fuel runs out too quick, still working on it but not a quick job.  The two deleted gauges and the replacement Civa 150.INS should be no problem to sort though.  This is where I`m up to now, anyway.........  If anyone continues with this and makes some headway, then please report back here so we can all benefit from it.......

I've managed to stop the fuel loss in Ready For Pushback (FSX) by disabling the following line in the "Panels. cfg" file.

gauge00=../RFP_V2/RT742_Tapes!SndCtrl, 1, 1, 0

The Aircraft flies just fine but the EPR gauges are inoperative, small price to pay to get it working for now.

What is exactely an EPR gauge ? Isn't there any EPR gauge on one of the default aircrafts that could be used to replace it ?
