I'm not sure what is happening... but when i turn the AP master switch on the plane radicly increases altitude like the world is blowing up!!! 8-) ::) when i set the altitude in the AP it dosnt do as i say.... nor does it take the correct heading or speed... :-? now maybe im just crazy or not really sure how to use AP (which i dont, never do unless i'm doing somthing else at the same time) at all!!! :-/ is anyone else having this problem or am i just paranoid??!!?? :D

Hi,

I'm starting to learn the whole navigation stuff also and I had the same problem with the AP. On your vertical speed indicator check the mark at point 1 in the picture. it has to be on 0 elevation. You do that with the adjusting knob at point 2 in the picture. Click on the left portion of it to bring the marker down.

Let me know if this was your problem.

What aircraft and is the altitude hold switch on?

the alt switch is on most all default planes in fsx and most add on planes :)

only planes i was using it on was the comercial planes... the defult ones ... ill try it :D

Really...so the AP alt switch is always on in most FS aircraft?  :o

After the AP is activated, make sure the Altidude Hold, Speed hold, Heading Hold, etc. are activated also.
