I ran the programs to tell me if my system will run FSX and all of them show me above the recommended specs. I upgraded FSX with the SP1 last week and now the program keeps crashing after a few minutes of flight. The previous version of FSX worked fine, other than being slow. I have reinstalled FSX twice, followed all the online suggestions. Upgraded all my drivers and and Bios systems. I even set all the graphics to low and still it crashes. I give up. Didn't realize I needed a degree and years of programming to use a flight simulator program.
Ok, well, lets take it one step at a time
You said it did not crash on RTM but only after SP1 was installed
First question.,.. and this assumes you had the original version installed for some time before applying SP1, have tried to delete the FSX.cfg file and let it build a new one?
Also, it was suggested back when the update was first released that it was best to uninstall FSX completely, confirm certain files and folder were deleted, the reboot and install FSX, let it complete, start FSX and let it build the config files, then close FSX, reboot and apply SP1
After that, again start FSX and allow it to complete its upgrade, then set it up and go
Have you tried these as of yet?
