Need a mechanic for the Maule

I just installed FSX Deluxe. I had the standard version before. In trying out the Maule I am having a strange problem. The airplane acts like it isn't making enough power. This happens at all airports at all altitudes and using automixture. The Maule is a STOL aircraft but for me it takes twice the runway to take off than the Baron. Acceleration looks OK out of the window but the airspeed indicator moves very slowly. It's as if I'm only running on half an engine. RPMs are good prop knob is full forward. I can't find anything amiss and I've checked out everything I can think of. I've followed the checklist to the letter yet nothing works. Anyone else having trouble with the Maule?

Have you looked at the weight in the fuel/cargo section?  If it is full of cargo, it might weigh you down and reduce performance.

No it's not that. Two passengers 170 lb each and full fuel tanks. I can get a little better performance with my aux. tanks empty but it still isn't anything near what the Maule is supposed to be able to do. I saw a picture once of a real Maule taking off from inside a hangar. The thing was airborne before it was out the front door. Sure can't replicate that in the FSX Maule.

I can get off the ground faster in the Cessna 172. The thing has a lot more go power as a tow plane than the flyable model. Anyone know where the trim is on the Maule? I can't seem to find elevator trim. Just rudder trim. I tried loading the Cessna and giving it a lot of nose up trim but it still takes a lot of runway to get airborne.

I bet Ozzy could replicate that feat ::)

All gauges are perfectly normal. I've also checked the throttle. It's slow when I use the X-45 throttle or the mouse on the 2D panel so it isn't my joystick. It's like someone edited the thrust scalar in the .cfg but I haven't done that. Thinking about doing so if I can't find any other work around. The Maule is worthless the way it is now.

I have no problems with the maul. It's actually my favorite plane.

I think there was still something remaining from the non-deluxe version of fsx when you insalled deluxe which has messed something up.

You may want to completely uninstall.. then search your hard drive for any remains. (check the my documents folders specifically.. probably aircraft configs still there after uninstall) Wipe everything. Then re-install.

Or you could try getting somebodies config file and using it.. but if what you did caused that problem.. who knows what other problems may arise? Might as well start over in my opinion.

Hope this helps.
